Route des Saveurs de Charlevoix

Charlevoix possesses a terroir that rivals Europe's most celebrated gastronomic regions. What it lacks in size, it compensates for in concentration: across a compact territory, passionate producers craft cheeses, raise meats, grow vegetables, brew beers, and distill spirits that have made the region a culinary destination in its own right.

The Route des Saveurs

The Route des Saveurs de Charlevoix is a gourmet trail showcasing this network of producers, artisans, and restaurateurs. Tourisme Charlevoix publishes a dedicated magazine listing the essential stops — a genuine field guide to consult before or during your stay so you don't miss a thing.

You will find artisanal cheese makers, market gardens, cider houses, quality butcher shops, bakeries that still work the old way, and tables that transform these local products into exceptional menus. This is the antithesis of industrial dining — here, every product has a name, a producer, a story.

The route from La Malbaie

From the chalet Le Littoral in Cap-à-l'Aigle, La Malbaie, Charlevoix, the Route des Saveurs unfolds naturally in both directions.

Towards Clermont and Baie-Saint-Paul — Fifteen minutes away, Menaud distillery in Clermont offers craft vodka, gin, and beer. Continuing to Baie-Saint-Paul (forty-five minutes), Microbrasserie Charlevoix is an essential stop for lovers of Belgian-inspired beers.

Around La MalbaieBoulangerie Pains d'Exclamation for fresh bread and pastries, Boucherie Chez Jo for meats and seafood, and in summer, berry picking on the Snigole path in Clermont.

The chalet kitchen

The Route des Saveurs comes into its own when you have a kitchen worthy of the products. The villa is exceptionally well equipped: complete gourmet kitchen, immersion circulator for sous-vide cooking, espresso machine, and a BBQ on the terrace for grilling. Bring back your Route des Saveurs finds and turn them into a memorable supper — it is one of the great pleasures of a Charlevoix stay.
