Private solid wood saunas, forest view

The dry sauna — Finnish model with heated stones, where water is poured to release steam — is a natural complement to an outdoor stay in Charlevoix. After skiing, hiking, snowmobiling or kayaking, 15 to 20 minutes at 80 °C melt muscular tension and prepare you for sleep.

Several of our chalets in Cap-à-l'Aigle, La Malbaie, are equipped with a private sauna. The Le Littoral chalet features a solid-wood sauna for 6, with an electric stone heater and a wide window onto the private forest. Les Thermes takes the experience further with a dedicated thermal zone: dry sauna, hammam (steam sauna), rest area with fireplace, and outdoor spa.

Paired with the outdoor spa, the sauna enables the classic Scandinavian ritual: heat up in the sauna, plunge into cold water or snow, warm up again in the spa. At 38 °C in the spa with snow around you, you can hear the river creaking as it freezes in the distance.

Frequently asked questions

Is the sauna private?
Yes. The sauna is solid wood, reserved for your group alone and available at any hour during your stay. Paired with the outdoor spa, it enables the Scandinavian ritual: heat up, plunge into cold or snow, then warm up again.
What's the difference between the sauna and the thermal zone?
A sauna is a single source of dry heat. A thermal zone instead gathers several facilities in one isolated space — hammam (steam sauna), dry sauna, fireside rest area and spa — to cycle through heat, cold and rest without going out.
