The dry sauna — Finnish model with heated stones, where water is poured to release steam — is a natural complement to an outdoor stay in Charlevoix. After skiing, hiking, snowmobiling or kayaking, 15 to 20 minutes at 80 °C melt muscular tension and prepare you for sleep.
Two of our three chalets in Cap-à-l'Aigle, La Malbaie, are equipped with a private sauna. The Le Littoral chalet features a solid-wood sauna for 6, with an electric stone heater and a wide window onto the private forest. Les Thermes takes the experience further with a dedicated thermal zone: dry sauna, hammam (steam sauna), rest area with fireplace, and outdoor spa.
Paired with the outdoor spa, the sauna enables the classic Scandinavian ritual: heat up in the sauna, plunge into cold water or snow, warm up again in the spa. At 38 °C in the spa with snow around you, you can hear the river creaking as it freezes in the distance.
